Jonathan F.P. Rose President, Jonathan Rose Companies Known as a leading national innovator in green building and smart growth development, Mr. Rose has over 30 years of experience developing large scale, successful, green, mixed used and mixed income residential and commercial properties. Mr. Rose is a trustee of the Urban Land Institute and Enterprise Community Partners, and he chairs the National Resources Defense Council and the Trust for Public Land’s National Real Estate Committee. He also serves as a trustee of the American Museum of Natural History and BAM, and serves on Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Leadership Council. Mr. Rose is former partner of Rose Associates, a leading owner, developer and investor in New York City since the 1920s. Mr. Rose graduated from Yale University in 1974 with a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy, and received a Masters in Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.

Wendy Rowden Managing Director Ms. Rowden leads the Investment practice, drawing upon her 25 years of expertise in the real estate industry as a legal and investment executive. She has responsibility for all aspects of the Fund, including oversight of acquisitions, financing, asset management and investor relations. Prior to joining Jonathan Rose Companies, Ms. Rowden served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of The Rockefeller Group, the U.S. subsidiary of Mitsubishi Estate Co, one of the largest real estate concerns in the world. In that role, she advised the CEO and Board of Directors on all matters relating to the operating subsidiaries that developed and owned real estate and made investments on behalf of pensions and institutional investors. Ms. Rowden was a Member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Cushman &Wakefield. She is currently on the Boards of Maimonides Medical Center and Safe Space NYC (a non-profit social services agency). She has received numerous awards including the United Way’s first Women United in Philanthropy award. Ms. Rowden holds an undergraduate degree from Brown University and law degrees from the University of Michigan and New York University.

Thomas P. Loftus Chief Financial Officer Mr. Loftus has 20 years of real estate experience. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a senior officer at Tishman Speyer Properties overseeing domestic and foreign financial staff. He served as Chief Administrative Officer and was instrumental in two portfolio mergers at Cornerstone Properties Inc., a NYSE-listed REIT subsequently sold to Equity Office Properties. He also coordinated the spin-off of Deutsche Bank’s real estate operations in the U.S. Mr. Loftus graduated Magna Cum Laude from Seton Hall University with his B. S. in Accounting and his M.B.A. in Finance, and is a Certified Public Accountant. |

Nathan D. Taft Director of Acquisitions Mr. Taft has led the Fund’s efforts to acquire, green and reposition portfolio properties, leveraging Jonathan Rose Companies’ longstanding experience with green building and its commitment to investment in smart growth, mass transit accessible locations. The Fund’s first acquisition, the Vance and Sterling Buildings in Seattle, Washington’s central business district, has become a flagship for its investment principles. The asset was granted LEED for Existing Buildings Gold Certification by the USGBC in 2009 and was featured as a model by the National Trust’s Preservation Green Lab. Nathan repositioned the asset, significantly increasing occupancy and income while creating what has been called “ground zero” for the green movement in Seattle. Other current notable projects include the acquisition and green renovation of 198 units of 100% affordable, Section 8 apartments in historic Harlem, New York, a pilot for HUD’s Green Retrofit Program; and the acquisition and greening to LEED EB standards of an office building near Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut financed with New Markets Tax Credits. Nathan has been a featured speaker in the US and Canada on the greening of existing, historic buildings. His prior experience includes working for a double bottom-line private equity fund at J.P. Morgan and leading several economic and community development initiatives for Yale University. Nathan is a member of Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) as well as the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He earned his M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management, and his B.A. in History from Yale University.

Cindy Miata Asset Manager
Ms. Miata is Asset Manager for the Fund, overseeing the operations and leasing of the Fund’s properties. Prior to joining Jonathan Rose Companies, Ms. Miata spent ten years at Sentinel Real Estate Corporation where she was responsible for a portfolio of 2.7 million s.f. of assets in six states. Ms. Miata received a BS degree from St. John’s University and a MS degree in Real Estate Investment & Development from New York University. She is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

Mona Gadallah Fund Controller Ms. Gadallah is responsible for Fund reporting and asset management with over 15 years of real estate experience. As former Assistant Controller of the East Coast regional office for RREEF Management, she was instrumental in growing the office almost four-fold over a 3-year period and oversaw financial reporting for approximately 400 commercial properties. As Portfolio Manager at DRA Advisors LLC, her responsibilities included investor reporting for a $350 million real estate fund and acquisitions due diligence. Mona graduated from Montclair State University with a B. S. in Marketing and Finance.

Clayton J. McPhail Acquisitions Analyst
Mr. McPhail is primarily responsible for property underwriting and valuation. He is also tasked with deal sourcing, due diligence for new acquisitions, and various asset management duties. Prior to joining Jonathan Rose Companies, Mr. McPhail worked for Madison International Realty, a real estate private equity firm that provides joint venture and preferred equity for stabilized commercial real estate as well as liquidity to holders of partnership and member interests. Mr. McPhail also brings international experience to his role at Jonathan Rose Companies having worked for Frankfurt based Lohnbach Investment Partners, a German investment platform of the Soros Real Estate Investors Fund. Mr. McPhail earned a Master of Design Studies (MDeS), Real Estate and Urban Development Concentration, from Harvard University in 2004. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from University of Tennessee in 2003.

Nami Park Fund Accountant As Fund Accountant of the Rose Smart Growth Investment Fund, Ms. Park’s responsibilities include interfacing with third-party managers, ensuring timely and accurate property reports and budgets. In addition, she assists with audits and investor reporting. Prior to joining Jonathan Rose Companies, Ms. Park worked at PCCP, LLC (formerly Pacific Coast Capital Partners, LLC), a West Coast real estate finance and investment management firm. She was responsible for the accounting and financing functions for the PCCP Equity Platforms. Previously, Ms. Park was a financial accountant at Kim & Lee, CPAs working with commercial real estate clients in the public and private sectors. Ms. Park graduated Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a B.A. in Music and Business Management. She currently is pursuing her CPA.

William Goodman Acquisitions Analyst / Project Manager
Mr. Goodman will be responsible for day-to-day project management activities for our team. He will coordinate team members and direct all correspondence and updates with the Zoo. Mr. Goodman will also manage overall progress with regard to major project milestones including monitoring the total budget and schedule. As a Project Manager with expertise in financial and market analysis, Mr. Goodman has gained a wide range of experience on a variety of projects in the Development, Investment, and Planning Practice Groups. In addition to assisting the development team for Tapestry, a 185-unit mixed-income, mixed-use building in East Harlem, he also evaluates potential acquisitions for the Rose Smart Growth Investment Fund, a real estate private equity fund that focuses on both economic and environmental investment criteria. Mr. Goodman received his Master’s degree in Urban Planning from Harvard University and his Bachelor’s degree from Brown University. Mr. Goodman has interned for: the City Office of Planning, Washington, DC; the Providence Housing Authority; and The Brookings Institution Center on Urban and Metropolitan Policy. |
