Jonathan F.P. Rose
Mr. Rose founded Jonathan Rose Companies in 1989. Known as an innovator in green building and smart growth development, Mr. Rose has over 30 years of experience acquiring, developing and owning large scale multifamily and commercial properties. He provides daily strategic direction to the firm’s management team and chairs its Investment Committee. Mr. Rose is Vice Chair of Enterprise Community Partners and is a trustee of the Natural Resources Defense Council. Mr.Rose chaired the Metropolitan Transit Authority’s Blue Ribbon Sustainability Commission, which developed the nation’s first green transit plan. He also serves on the Board of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and is an Honorary Member of The American Institute of Architects. Mr. Rose is a former partner of Rose Associates, a leading owner, developer and investor in New York City since the 1920s. Mr. Rose graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy and received a Masters in Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Arman joined Jonathan Rose Companies in July 2016 as Interim Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Arman was Chief Financial Officer at Procida Funding, a private equity mortgage fund. Prior to Procida, Mr. Arman was a founding member and Managing Director of Hudson Realty Capital. While there, he served as Chief Financial Officer and managed all of Hudson Realty Capital’s financial assets, working to optimize returns. Mr. Arman was also a founding member of Newbridge in 2001, one of the predecessor companies of Hudson Realty Capital. Prior to founding Newbridge and Hudson Realty Capital, Mr. Arman was a Vice President at CSFB and a member of its Portfolio Bids Group where he was responsible for financial reporting, integrating information with internal support departments, maintaining third party vendor relationships with services, accountants, and insurers and performing asset management duties. Prior to joining CSFB in 1998, Mr. Arman was a Portfolio Financial Manager for the J. E. Robert Companies, where he supervised accounting, servicing and financial reporting for institutions, including CSFB. As Operational Manager for a regional residential Re/Max broker, Mr. Arman performed all company accounting and operational functions and corresponded with bank REO departments in preparing residential properties for sale. Mr. Arman began his professional career with Deloitte & Touche as a Staff Accountant, performing audits on real estate and brokerage companies. Mr. Arman received his M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut and received his B.B.A. from Iona College. Mr. Arman is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the AICPA.
Director of Acquisitions
Nathan D. Taft
Mr. Taft joined Jonathan Rose Companies in 2004. Mr. Taft oversees the Acquisitions Team in sourcing, financing, and closing portfolio properties. During his tenure, Mr. Taft has expanded the firm’s national brokerage and partnership networks and has managed the acquisition of more than $600 million of assets. Mr.Taft also has played an integral role in Rose’s effort to create national models of best practice in the greening of existing buildings. Mr.Taft brings financing, design, construction management, marketing and leasing skills to his investment work. His prior experience includes working for a double bottom line private equity fund at J.P. Morgan and leading public-private economic development partnerships for Yale University. He is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association as well as the Urban Land Institute, where he sits on the Responsible Property Investment Council. Mr.Taft earned his M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management and his B.A. in History from Yale University.
Director of Finance
Ms.Plithides joined Jonathan Rose Companies in 2010. She serves as Director of Finance for Rose Investments, and Chief Compliance Officer to the firm's Investment Manager. Ms.Plithides is responsible for fund budgeting, accounting, reporting, risk management, and compliance. She brings over 25 years experience and has been a Certified Public Accountant in New York since 1986. Prior to joining Jonathan Rose Companies, Ms. Plithides was the Controller of Red Stone Partners LLC, a private real estate finance company with a core focus on the multifamily industry. Ms.Plithides previously held several positions of increasing responsibility with Centerline Capital Group and its predecessor, Related Capital Partners. Her most recent role was Senior Vice President of the tax department. Ms.Plithides began her career at the accounting firms Blonder Seymour & Shapss and Bernstein & Berger. Ms.Plithides graduated with distinction from the University of Rhode Island with B.S. in Accounting.
Director of Investor Relations
Kristin Sikorski Koch
Ms. Koch joined Jonathan Rose Companies in January 2015 as Director of Investor Relations. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Koch worked in residential real estate sales with Elegran Real Estate and Development. Ms. Koch previously served as Vice President of Investor Relations at Solus Alternative Asset Management (formerly Stanfield Capital Partners), an investment advisor specializing in event-driven, distressed and special situation opportunities. Ms. Koch received a BS in Technical and Scientific Communications from James Madison University, and is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson in New York.
Mr. Kearse joined Jonathan Rose Companies in 2015 as a member of the Acquisitions Team. He is responsible for analyzing and executing property and portfolio investments. Prior to joining Jonathan Rose Companies, Mr. Kearse worked as an associate at Summit Partners, a $15 billion growth equity fund, where he sourced and analyzed investments in the technology sector. He previously served as a Senior Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, where he consulted government agencies and Fortune 500 companies on a range of strategic and operational issues. Mr. Kearse received a B.S in Mechanical Engineering and an M.S. in Civil Engineering (focused in transit and urban planning) from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and was a Rhodes Scholarship finalist.
Ms. Pongfuengfu joined Jonathan Rose Companies in 2016 as a Portfolio Manager and is responsible for fund valuations, forecasting, and investor reporting. Prior to joining Jonathan Rose Companies, Ms. Pongfuengfu served as a Vice President of Asset Management at Urban American Management, a NJ-based real estate investment and management company. At Urban American, Ms. Pongfuengfu was actively managing $98 million of workforce housing in New York City and New Jersey alongside her other duties involving acquisitions, investor reporting, and fund-level analysis. Ms. Pongfuengfu previously served as a Consultant at Deloitte Consulting in Thailand, where she was engaged on projects in different industries such as energy, insurance, steel, and finance. Ms. Pongfuengfu received a Master’s Degree in Real Estate from Cornell University, where she was a Cornell Real Estate Advisory Board Scholar, and she received a B.B.A. from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand.
Director of Asset Management, Director of Connecticut Office
Caroline Vary brings over 20 years of experience in design, construction, development, asset management, leasing and financing to her role as a Director of the Connecticut Office. Ms.Vary joined Jonathan Rose Companies in 2007 to lead development projects in the Connecticut regional office. She oversees all aspects of real estate development and construction, including: pre-development planning, due diligence activities, contract negotiations, oversight of consultants and contractors, coordination with partners as well as city and state government offices, reporting to lenders, community relations, coordination of marketing and leasing efforts and oversight of property management. Ms. Vary received a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Architecture with a focus on urban planning and renewal, as well as housing design from the Rhode Island School of Design. Ms. Vary is a member of Urban Land Institute (ULI) and is a frequent speaker at multiple trade related organizations in both New York and Connecticut.
Senior Asset Manager
Mr. Maloney joined Jonathan Rose Companies in 2016 and is responsible for the asset management of fund investments including budgeting, leasing, marketing, capital programs, green retrofits, and financing. Prior to joining Jonathan Rose Companies, Mr. Maloney served as Senior Asset Manager at The Richman Group, a national tax credit syndicator and developer based in Greenwich, CT. Mr. Maloney was overseeing a portfolio of $600 million in equity in affordable housing throughout the East Coast. His duties included construction monitoring, tax credit compliance, investor reporting, turnaround strategies, and disposition. Mr. Maloney received a B.S. from The University of Tampa, and is a licensed Real Estate Salesperson in the State of New York.
Senior Asset Manager
Mr.Plattner joined Jonathan Rose Companies in 2013 and is responsible for the asset management of fund investments, including leasing, marketing, valuation, underwriting and management of capital programs. Mr.Plattner brings expertise in affordable housing to his work at Jonathan Rose Companies as he previously served as the Director of Asset Management for a non-profit, affordable housing developer in Brooklyn, New York. Prior to that Mr.Plattner was a Statistical Economist for Moody’s Investor’s Services (MCO). Committed to community and urban development in the U.S. and internationally, Mr.Plattner has development experience in Latin America and speaks both Spanish and Portuguese. Mr.Plattner holds a dual Master Degree in Planning and Real Estate Development from USC (MPL/MRED) and received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Michigan. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.
Ms. Gousse joined Jonathan Rose Companies in 2016 as a member of the Asset Management Team. She is responsible for all assets during the acquisition stage, and works with both the Investment Practice Group and the Construction Management Team to oversee all added-value enhancements until stabilization. Prior to joining Jonathan Rose Companies, Ms. Gousse served as an Operations Manager with Related Management, where she provided project management support for new acquisitions and developments. Her experience also includes affordable program compliance and agency reporting for 80/20 programs. Ms. Gousse received a B.A. in Accounting from Fordham University and an M.S. in Real Estate Finance from CUNY Baruch College.
Ms. Rodríguez joined Jonathan Rose Companies in 2014 and brings more than ten years of experience in asset management, leasing, and marketing to her role as the Affordable Housing Asset Manager in the Asset Management Practice Group. Ms. Rodríguez is currently overseeing environmentally responsible multi-family projects throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, including new construction, green retrofits and completed projects implementing green operations. Ms. Rodríguez previously served as the Development Risk Asset Manager at First Sterling Financial, overseeing more than 40 LIHTC projects under construction or undergoing a major rehabilitation. Ms. Rodríguez is fluent in Spanish and holds a B.S. in Real Estate from New York University.
Commercial Asset Manager
Ms. Cotto joined Jonathan Rose Companies in 2015 and oversees all retail and office leasing. Ms. Cotto previously served as Assistant Director of Real Estate at Columbia University, where she was involved in the retail and office leasing strategy for Columbia’s Morningside Heights and Manhattanville campuses. Ms. Cotto received a B.A. in Africana Studies and Chinese Studies from Wellesley College and a M.S. in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers’ New York Next Generation Committee.
