Communication and Information Sharing

We encourage communication and information sharing between our residents and our staff. A range of communication methods are available, so that all residents can communicate with us in whatever way they find most convenient. We use Active Buildings, an internet-based resident portal for handling multiple resident transactions; we provide lobby monitors which are updated with fresh and relevant information, but we also still employ good, old fashioned, low tech, face to face communication methods and bulletin boards to communicate initiatives and encourage participation and connection. 

Of course, our on-site staff are always available for in person communication with residents and many of our properties also have dedicated Resident Service Coordinators whose role is to link residents with supportive services and other resources, increasing their access to opportunity. 

Communication is a key component of Communities of Opportunity. Participation and collective efficacy is fostered through effective communication. The development of communities to strengthen and reach their potential requires effective communication.
